Video as Evidence: Anatomy of a Crime

The goal of this section is to help you understand the structure of a crime so you can make informed decisions about where to point your camera so you collect more relevant information and, in turn, enhance the usefulness and evidentiary value of your footage.

The Field Guide is drawn from conversations with attorneys, investigators, analysts, legal scholars, funders and our peers working on-the-ground where the violations happen, and will aim to improve the reliability and effectiveness of video shot as human rights documentation.
